JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHY EXPERIENCE AT FAMILY LEARNING FESTIVAL
As a mother to a first-grade son and someone who grew up in a family of educators, I am deeply passionate about education and hands-on cultural experiences that nurture children’s creativity. I am honored to have been invited to offer a free Japanese calligraphy experience at the Family Learning Festival, organized by Connections for Children. The festival will take place on February 28 at the Torrance Cultural Center, and I’m excited to share this special opportunity with you.
The festival celebrates the Year of the Horse and features a variety of hands-on activities and live entertainment for children and families of all ages. Throughout the day, I will be hosting a simple, drop-in Japanese calligraphy station where participants can try writing one kanji character of their choice from a selection of five options. The activity is open on a first-come, first-served basis and designed to be approachable and fun for young learners. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to experience Japanese calligraphy in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Please feel free to invite your friends and family, and come find me at the festival—I look forward to seeing you there.
