“Shō Jō Ru Ten (Sei Sei Ru Ten)” is a collaborative performance project that fuses contemporary dance and Japanese calligraphy by a Japanese calligraphy artist Aoi Yamaguchi, and a dance movement artist Yuko Hashimoto. Rooted in ancient Japanese sensibility, underlying idea of ​​”sense of impermanence” — Shō Jō Ru Ten explores its meaning that “all things under the sun being in flux through the endless circle of birth, death, and rebirth; the circle of transmigration”. The performance runs for an hour, consisting of tour transitions: I. Shō -Birth-, II. Jō -Live-, III. Ru -Transformation-, and IV. Ten -Reincarnation-, accompanied by music and sounds by Christopher Willits. In each stages, the three elements of calligraphy, physical movements and materials deform and interact in symbolic ways, illustrating the theme of humanity and spirituality.  The debut performance is scheduled on June 29, 2013 at Teatrul Odeon in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Romania.

書家山口碧生と、舞踊家橋本有子によるダンスと書道を融合したパフォーマンス。テーマは、東洋人の感性に古くから根付いている、万物は絶えず生じては変化し移り 変わっていく「無常観」の考えを根底とした、「生生流転」。いのちが生まれてから死に至り、また再生に向かう途切れることのないこの流れをライブ書道と身体パフォーマンスで表現する。公演はおよそ一時間。第一部「生 -生まれる-」 Shō  -Birth-、第二部「生 -生きる-」Jō -Live-、第三部 「流 -流れる-」 Ru -Transformation- 、そして第四部 「転 -転ずる-」Ten -Reincarnation-で 構成される。パフォーマンスでは、書の素材となる紙や布を、それぞれのテーマに合わせて衣装や舞台装置の一部として様々に変形させる。舞台上で、文字、身体、素材の三つの要素が多様に関わり合うことで、視覚的にテーマ、そしてストーリー展開を感じてもらうことを目指す。音楽は、坂本龍一氏とのコラボレーションアルバムを昨年リリースしたことでも知られるミュージシャン/ オーディオビジュアルアーティストChristopher Willits（クリストファー • ウィリッツ）氏が手がける。
