Inspired by the natural contrast of light and dark, the artist explores the concept of "陰翳" (IN-EI), or shadows. The front panel Mind Lifted symbolizes light, and the back panel Tears Shadowed symbolizes darkness; together in layers, the artist gives poetry a physical depth to embody its meaning, which invites viewers to wander through the interplay between words, light and shadow. Sumi ink on sheer poly, 270cm x 170cm.
